Travis Kelce message to Taylor Swift's security sums up NFL star

Travis Kelce wanted to act as Swift's security, asking them to step aside at one point this weekend

Travis Kelce told Taylor Swift 's security to 'step aside' so that he could take on that role during their weekend together in New York City.

The Kansas City Chiefs superstar has spent time with his new girlfriend over the past three days, after she travelled to Kansas City for the second time to see him in action.

Following that game, in which Kelce put in a big performance, the two travelled back east to Swift's Tribeca apartment in New York City, as they went out on Saturday and Sunday evening - pictured together at numerous venues.

It has since been reported that Kelce stepped in as Swift's security, with the 6'5", 250lbs NFL star taking on the role so they could spend the night alone.

A source also told Entertainment Tonight : "They kissed throughout the evening. They were holding hands throughout the night, whispering into each other’s ear, and they even exchanged some kisses. At one point, he actually told her security guard that he could step aside, like he’d take it from here."

Swift has now made appearances at three of Kelce's last four games. She first went to Kansas City in September to see his touchdown performance in their win over the Chicago Bears.

She then appeared at the New York Jets game the following week, just a short drive from her apartment before travelling back to Kansas City to see the win over the Denver Broncos. A source close to Kelce told PEOPLE that the NFL star is incredibly happy in his new relationship.

They said: "Taylor's unlike anyone Travis has dated before. It was very unexpected for his friends, but he's so into her and very, very happy. Some people thought he was just joking around about the bracelet and having a crush on her earlier this summer, but he was serious about it.

"They are having a a great time getting to know one another and have introduced some of their friends to each other in recent weeks. Everyone's getting along and seeing how much fun they have together. They make a very cute couple."

It is not known exactly how long the two have been together, with some summarising that they have been begun their relationship weeks before their first appearance in September.
