Coleen Rooney's mum says 'I don't like Wayne' as she reacts to cheating
Coleen Rooney's mum declared that she "doesn't like Wayne" in the aftermath of the former footballer's cheating scandal, in dramatic scenes to be shown in Coleen's new documentary.
The Rooneys tell of their problems which peaked in 2017 as part of a new three-part Disney+ series, which also sees furious Colette McLoughlin react to her son-in-law Wayne Rooney's night out with Laura Simpson. First, Coleen, 37, opens up on her heartbreak that ensued after Wayne, also 37, was pictured in a car with Laura following a boozy evening.
Wayne, who is England's second highest ever goalscorer, was branded "stupid" by Coleen, who at one point admitted "I just can't carry on like this" resulting in him grovelling to his spouse and her family. It prompted Colette to hit out: "As parents you don't want your daughter to be going through that. You're mad, you're angry. All you want to do is protect her. She was speaking to Wayne who's trying to sort things out. I love him but sometimes I don't like him. I feel like shaking him. He's hurt Coleen and that's what matters."
Coleen, who shares four sons with Wayne, explained that when her husband gets drunk and misbehaves he is "not the person I married" nor is he the person she "wants" him to be. The documentary mainly focuses on the Wagatha Christie case, which saw Coleen in court up against fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy.
But the case centered on leaked information from Coleen's private Instagram account and the first thing to leak in 2017 was when Coleen moved out of the family home and information about her moving in with her parents, which made its way into The Sun newspaper. While partying into the early hours Wayne, Wayne met Laura at a bar before joining her for a drive in her VW Beetle. He was later arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after police and found him to be three times the limit.

Heartbroken Coleen branded Wayne 'stupid' telling him she 'can't go on like this' following his cheating scandalAfter the incident, Wayne's "party girl" Laura claimed the pair kissed and cuddled and made several public appearances detailing her version of events. Coleen was four months pregnant at the time.
Recalling what happened in the aftermath, Wayne said in the new Disney+ doc: "Of course she wasn't happy. But if I'm being honest, I can't even remember speaking to the girl in the bar, never met before in my life. So there was never any talk of anything happening or anything was gonna happen.
"You know, I'm driving another girl's car and she's in the passenger seat, it doesn't look great. I know what it was. But I also know what it looked like."
At this time Coleen posted a message on her Instagram with her kids and the information was leaked despite her deleting the post after a few hours. It was the first of many stories leaked. Discussing Wayne's behaviour at the time, Colette later explained: "Wayne apologised to us, to Coleen, and then again it was up to her what she wanted to do. We said to her we will stick by you whatever you choose. We will stick by you."
Wayne issued a public apology after being banned from driving for two years. He said: "Following today's court hearing I want publicly to apologise for my unforgivable lack of judgement in driving while over the legal limit. It was completely wrong.
"I have already said sorry to my family, my manager and chairman and everyone at Everton FC. Now I want to apologise to all the fans and everyone else who has followed and supported me throughout my career.
"Of course I accept the sentence of the court and hope that I can make some amends through my community service."
