Coleen Rooney's showdown with Wayne Rooney's 'party girl' in furious phone call

Coleen Rooney had her own showdown with Wayne Rooney's "party girl" Laura Simpson, she has revealed in her documentary.

Coleen and Wayne's marriage hit the rocks in 2017 when it was revealed the former footballer had been pulled over and was found to be over the drink drive limit while behind the wheel of another woman's car. Wayne met Laura at a bar before joining her for a drive in her VW Beetle.

Speaking in her new Disney series, mum-of-four Coleen opens up about receiving a phone call at the airport from her grovelling husband when he came clean about the whole situation. Wayne had been accused of cheating in the past but teenage sweetheart Coleen had always chosen to forgive him.

The 37-year-old has for the first time admitted that she decided to confront Laura directly about what happened after hearing she had given up her story to the press.

Coleen said: "I was a bit gutted because at this point the girl was giving her own story to the press. I actually phoned her up [Laura Simpson] and spoke to her on the phone, I just wanted to hear what she had to say.

"I didn't tell anyone I was going to call her. If I know someone can talk me out of something that I feel strongly about, that is when I tend to go silent and just do it."

Recalling what happened in the aftermath, Wayne said: "Of course she wasn't happy. But if I'm being honest, I can't even remember speaking to the girl in the bar, never met before in my life. So there was never any talk of anything happening or anything was gonna happen.

"You know, I'm driving another girl's car and she's in the passenger seat, it doesn't look great. I know what it was. But I also know what it looked like."

Coleen's new three-part Disney+ documentary Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story focuses on the Wagatha Christie case which saw Coleen in court up against fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy.

Rebekah was accused of leaking Coleen's private Instagram stories to the press after Coleen set a trap to find who was doing it. The first thing to leak was back in 2017 when Coleen moved out of the family home after Wayne was caught in a car with Laura.

Coleen Rooney : The Real Wagatha Story launches on Disney+ on Wednesday October 18.
