BBC Strictly's Kai subtly reassures Angela Rippon after wardrobe mishap

BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans have noticed Kai Widdrington's subtle comment to Angela Rippon after a wardrobe mishap on the show.

Angela and Strictly pro Kai danced once again on Saturday night, impressing viewers with their routine. However, host Tess Daly became worried when she spotted Angela's wardrobe malfunction during the programme. She stepped in to help Angela with her footwear issues at the end of the performance, while Kai assisted her off the dance floor.

"You legend. You absolute legend," Kai told her just moments after their dance, which had impressed both judges and viewers. One fan, Wanderlust, shared on Instagram : "She is inspirational and has great moves, however I must be alone in that I don't enjoy her dances. Controversial I know..don't hate me just an opinion."

After their performance, Strictly Come Dancing viewers flocked to social media to share their reactions as one complained: "No straight leg, no rumba walk, no hips.... basically, Kai dragged her around - definitely not worthy of the marks." Another replied: "You do realise how bitter you sound? Angela has been around dancers for a very long time, she was classically trained in ballet up until the age of 17, was chairman of the English National Ballet for four years."

"She didn't dance on the Morecambe and Wise show for free, therefore she's also a professor dancer," someone else pointed out. "So wonderful to see a more senior lady do well on strictly and not be bored out first week! She is true class." another BBC viewer added. "Kai's choreography is amazing, he is such a gentleman too. Absolutely brilliant couple and performance again x" "Felt like a shorter dance and totally overrated! She is fab for 79 but when Bobby got scored lower. Eh no," another viewer grumbled.

During Sunday's results show, Jody Cundy became the third contestant to leave as he faced Eddie Kadi in the dreaded dance-off. The two stars had to perform their routines again as Jody, 45, and pro partner Jowita Przystal performed their Salsa to Samba de Janeiro by Bellini while Eddie, 40, and his pro partner Karen Hauer performed their American Smooth to Sex Bomb by Tom Jones.

After both couples had danced a second time, the judges delivered their verdicts as Craig Revel Horwood chose to save Eddie and Karen. Craig said: "For improvement and musicality I would like to save Eddie and Karen." Motsi Mabuse also chose to save Eddie and Karen, saying: "For me it was a very clear decision, one couple was much, much stronger. I would love to save Eddie and Karen."

It was three votes for Eddie and Karen as Anton Du Beke also chose to save them, explaining: "Well based on the dance off and the dance off only, I thought one couple danced very well and one couple had a bit of an off night, there were a couple of mistakes there so I would like to save Eddie and Karen." With three votes to Eddie and Karen, they had won the majority vote and head judge Shirley Ballas also said she would have decided to save the duo.

After his fate was revealed, Jody said: "You know what, when I signed up for this I thought what on earth am I signing up for and we did that first live show and I absolutely loved every second of it. And just being able to dance and do something I've never done before and get completely out of my comfort zone and with this amazing person.

"This person's got so much energy, every morning like 9 O'clock we've got, start of training and she's like BAMMM, like this, she comes into the room like an absolute cannonball and she just doesn't stop the whole day. And she doesn't lose any faith, doesn't lose anything, motivates me on to do more and more. So I've had an absolute blast."
