Man Utd boss Skinner admits injury blow "doesn't look good" in cruel setback
Manchester United boss Marc Skinner said the injury suffered by defender Gabby George in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Leicester City "doesn't look good".
The 26-year-old, who signed for the Red Devils in the summer from Everton, was forced off in the ninth minute of the WSL clash at Leigh Sports Village.
The injury threatens to mark a major set back to Skinner's defence as George has impressed heavily since slotting into the left-back position, stirring shouts for her inclusion in Sarina Wiegman's upcoming Lionesses squad for the inaugural Women's Nations League campaign. The squad is set to be announced next week.
The left-back showed an especially composed display in United's 1-1 draw with French giants Paris Saint-Germain in the midweek Champions League qualifying first-leg, and a trip to Paris for the second-leg without George risks becoming a daunting task.
Asked if there was an news on George's condition, Skinner told MUTV: "Not yet. I wouldn't imagine it looks good." He added: "We will look after Gabby. It didn't look like a good one. I hope she is okay."

United initially responded well to George's forcing off. New signing Gemma Evans replaced the England international, but while Skinner's side dominated proceedings, they had little show for their efforts. And Leicester, relishing an unbeaten start to their season, snatched the game's opener after the interval when Aileen Whelan turned in at the back post following a free-kick.
The hosts continued to pile on pressure and Maya Le Tissier duly equalised seven minutes later to salvage a point for the hosts. Since the start of the season, United have conceded the first goal in every game they have played but have recovered each time to remain unbeaten in all competitions.

"We weren't good enough in the final third today. In the build-up, we could have been quicker," he said.
"There's no complacency from the players at all. Leicester had a 0.2 expected goals, which is a quarter of a goal in a game. Yet, we defend like that, we're going to concede goals. We got two players from my team jumping up and instead of calling 'header' and heading each other."
"But there was a lot of endeavour. We need to be more ruthless. And we've been like that all season so I'm going to expect that. Standards have to keep here, you can't dip them for a second in this league otherwise you get that today."
He added: "The reality is there were chances in that game that we had to bury."
