Liverpool are still a week away from a return to action with the international break still in full flow – as the Reds look to carry on their impressive start to the campaign.

Qualifying for European club football's most elite competition is vital for the Reds, as without a return to the Champions League the club's audacious summer transfer plans could be scuppered. Jurgen Klopp hasn't always been able to spend freely while in the Anfield hot-seat, but could be gearing up for quite the shopping spree come the end of the current campaign.

Mirror Football has exclusively revealed that the sale of Mohamed Salah next summer could allow Klopp to bring in a number of high-profile additions as he aims to transform Liverpool into title challengers once again. With that in mind, here are the relevant headlines coming out of Anfield for Monday.

City would profit from Sane transfer

Manchester City will obtain 10 percent of any transfer fee if Liverpool sign their former forward Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich.

Mirror Football exclusively revealed that Sane was a top Liverpool target if they decide to cash-in on Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah. Sane is the No.1 target for Klopp should his star attacking player Salah depart Anfield.

City have retained the clause from the German international’s switch to Bayern back in 2019 – which you can read more about here.

Juve look to Thuram move

Juventus are weighing up a move to sign Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram – who has been a primary target for Liverpool.

The Italian giants are sourcing a replacement for Paul Pogba – who is set for a long-term ban after testing positive for excess levels of testosterone – and believe Thuram could be an ideal replacement, as per CalcioMercato.

Thuram is the son of the former France international footballer Lilian Thuram, a former Juventus defender, and his brother Marcus plays for their domestic rivals Inter.

Mohamed Salah’s personal bodyguard Karim Abdou revealed that his security team checks all gifts the Liverpool star receives from his fans in case they "make him sick or kill him".

Salah has emerged as the superstar of the Reds in recent seasons and the Egyptian is one of the most high-profile sportsmen on the planet, after his goals fired Jurgen Klopp’s side to Premier League and Champions League glory in recent seasons.

Abdou and the rest of Salah’s security team cannot take any chances, as he has now revealed in a wide-ranging interview. Among Abdou’s revelations, he has said: "When he won the Champions League, that was the most crazy time."
