Antiques Roadshow audience gasp as guest learns value of 'over the top' ring
Antiques Roadshow left the audience gasping on Sunday's episode as one guest learnt the incredible value of the "over the top" ring and earrings they had inherited from their mother.
During the latest episode, the guest spoke to expert, John Benjamin, as they brought along their mother's diamond drop earrings and incredible ring, which were bought for their mother by their father in the 1940s.
After studying the incredible items, noting that the ring had a four carat diamond, which had no flaws, and was surrounded by even more diamonds, the guest joked: "Over the top!" to which John replied: "You think it's over the top?! Shall I tell you, the fact that it is over the top... people like that!" with the guest admitting: "Oh, not me!"

The guest was also left stunned as they replied: "Oh good, good! Thank you very much!"

It comes as Antiques Roadshow viewers were left stunned last week when an expert unveiled the value of one guest's host of treasures, which she collected from a series of car boot sales.
The guest brought along a collection of different items she had purchased over the years from rummaging around in car boot sales. She said: "Someone had just put it down, the sun was shining and it just came at me."
John then revealed that the two items could sell together for the "best part" of £27,000 to £30,000One of the guest's items was a bracelet that featured a 22-carat golden chain and green stones, which the BBC expert later identified as emeralds. The owner revealed she had purchased it for just three pounds fifty.
Another unexpected item was a 18-carat brooch that the guest only paid two pounds for. The guest's car boot jewellery collection was extensive with other items including a flower brooch with three diamonds surrounded by 18-carat gold and a slightly broken flower brooch, which the guest paid one pound fifty for.
Expert Joanna Hardy left the guest gobsmacked when she revealed the broken brooch was worth a huge £3,000 to £4,000 as she explained: "Each of the petals being beautiful set sapphires with diamonds around each of the flower heads."
Joanna revealed her collection was worth in total up to £11,000, as the stunned guest exclaimed: "Good grief!" Referring to the provenance of the guest's collection, the antique expert joked: "Quite frankly you have done extremely well, it never happens to me."
