NFL head explains what makes Ange Postecoglu so special after Spurs start
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has explained how he has looked to learn from Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou, praising the way the Australian motivates his side.
Tottenham have enjoyed an impressive start to the Premier League season, as the club lies top of the table at the October international break. Tottenham are one of only two undefeated teams remaining in the English top flight, along with North London rivals Arsenal.
Postecoglou is in his first season as Tottenham manager, and his impact has caught the attention of an NFL coach. Ravens head coach Jon Harbaugh met with the Spurs boss this week in the build-up to the NFL international series in London.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Harbaugh was asked about his experience in London for the past week. In response, the Ravens head coach praised Postecoglou and explained why he, in his 16th season as head coach of Baltimore, has been looking to learn from the Spurs manager.
“I learned I can win a game in London, so that was nice to know,” Harbaugh said when asked about what he has learned from his time in England.
He added: “But I really enjoyed being in Tottenham when we practiced over there. Just looking at the facilities and having the chance to talk to the various staff members.
“The head coach [Postecoglou] was amazing, I really like that guy. He’s really good with people and really understands how to motivate a team and build an organisation. He’s done it at different places and I was just trying to pick his brain as much as I could.
“All of the people around him, the performance people, they’re pretty special.
“We got to see the young players, it was kinda cool to see an academy. That’s different from us, we have high school and college, you guys have the academies at the clubs.
“Talking to those kids, and they’re kids, yet they’re really talented. So we learned a lot about how small our sporting world really is.”
Harbaugh and the Ravens will return to the United States where the team will prepare to face the Detroit Lions in Week 7. For Tottenham, Postecoglou will have an extra few days to prepare his Tottenham players for the return to Premier League action on ‘Monday Night Football’ against Fulham on October 23.
