Strictly's Dianne Buswell and Bobby Brazier have developed a close bond

Strictly Come Dancing star Dianne Buswell has been supported by her on-screen partner, EastEnders actor Bobby Brazier after she received a sweet message from her dad in Australia ahead of the live show on Saturday night.

The pair performed a fierce tango to David Bowie's Fashion, dressed in fiery red outfits that matched the colour of Dianne's hair and her father had wished her luck for the routine and hoped that it might curry favour with the judges, especially Craig Revel Horwood, who is renowned for being miserly with his marks and critique.

Dancer Dianne, who has been in a relationship with social media star Joe Sugg since they were partnered together on Strictly in 2018, shared the message on her Instagram page with her 945,000 followers. The message from her dad read: "To my dearest lovely Dianne. I wish you all the best of luck for tonight's concert, hope you and Bobby have a great dance tonight if Craig give you an 8 you are bound to get top 37 tonight. Love you more. Daddy."

Dianne captioned a screenshot of the message saying: "you know when you just have a favourite human. my dad is one of mine. love ya dad xxxx. always so positive even about Craig. can’t wait for the concert tonight." One of the first to reply to her post was Bobby, who was quick to support his dance partner, commenting: "Gonna put on a concert for dadda b tonight."

Dianne's fans also shared their love for the message, with one commenting: "Your Dad is so precious, Dianne! What a lovely and special thing to have someone who is always cheering for you and so demonstrative in their support and love. I truly wish for every child to have such an amazing parent."

Unfortunately, on the night, Dianne and Bobby didn't leave the judges drooling with praise as they all found fault with the routine. Craig Revel Horwood, who Dianne's dad would go easy on them, hit out at the dance saying that Bobby and Dianne's performance had a "lack of focus and intent." He also added: "I could see the mechanics. Great dance but not sold to me,"

Speakingh to Strictly host Claudia Winkleman after the dance, Bobby said: "It's been emotional. So, so emotional. All week. But closing the show is a great privilege." Dianne added: "It was really difficult. I pushed you [Bobby] musically. That song is not easy to hear and you worked so hard to be able to hear the music. But he's just been a massive rock this week so thank you."
