Coronation Street Stephen's final revenge 'rumbled' after deadly soap twist
Coronation Street fans are convinced they've rumbled one last Stephen Reid twist after the cobbles murderer appeared to be killed off on Friday night.
During the latest episode, in a huge twist, Peter Barlow ran Stephen over as he feared he was going to kill Jenny Connor, who he had been holding hostage on the street, with the car incident appearing to kill the murderer. Peter had been growing increasingly frustrated over what Stephen had done to his partner Carla Connor, drugging her with LSD to make her think she was paranoid and also stealing all the Underworld money.
There was shock reeling across the whole of the cobbles as Stephen's lifeless body laid on the floor. With the likes of Gail, Audrey, David, Shona, Sarah and Adam stood watching as they all rushed over to see what had happened. However, despite being put into a body bag which confirms his death, some soap watchers think that Stephen might not actually be dead and has faked his demise, which could result in an explosive Christmas revenge return storyline.

It comes as actor Todd Boyce appeared to hint that Stephen could make a shock return during the festive period as he claims his final victim. Considering Phelan managed to return after falling off a cliff, it certainly isn't out of the realms of possibility. Speaking to the Mirror on the Inside Soap Awards red carpet, actor Todd, 62, said: "Leo, his first murder, genuinely came as a complete surprise to him, he didn't mean that to happen and he was OK that it did happen because it got him out of a tight spot.

"And then Teddy, the dad - I think he just had this secret that got found out and he thought, 'I've got to keep going!' And then I think with Rufus, it was actually because Rufus had bribed him and blackmailed him and he just thought, 'Listen, you're going down.' So I think maybe he got a bit of a taste for it?"
Asked about filming his final scenes and whether he was sad to leave the soap, Todd replied: "I couldn't say if I've finished my last scenes! I think there could be a lot more to come..." So could he make a reappearance? Whether he could get out of it is one thing and the audience, they want justice. So it's a balancing act between how much they can get out of it and when they can get out of it?" Sadly, Todd remained tight-lipped when asked if he could say if he was in any Christmas scenes: "No, I can't!"
