Claudia Winkleman's super chic home and strict ban on everyday household item
Claudia Winkleman's chic urban home offers the presenter the perfect place to relax when she's not strutting her stuff on Strictly Come Dancing.
The BBC star, 51, shares the Grade II-listed townhouse with her husband Kris Thykier, and kids, Jake, Matilda and Arthur in central London where she is said to count former Prime Minister Tony Blair and his wife Cherie among her neighbours.
Claudia prefers to keep her family out of the spotlight, but occasionally gives her fans a sneak peak at their lavish home life on Instagram. In small snippets of the swanky pad, which sits in one of the most affluent areas of the capital, near Marble Arch, fans can see the mum-of-three's taste in interiors is stylishly Scandi with a whole host of neutral colours on the walls and in the furnishings.

The Traitors star's kitchen features huge underlit slabs of marble on the walls (@claudiawinkle/instagram)In one video, where Claudia can be seen surrounded by face masks she had designed back in 2020 for Great Ormond Street Hospital, she sits in front of cream wood-panelled walls, giving the room a cool and calming feel.
Meanwhile, Claudia's living room boasts a huge book case that runs from the carpet all the way up to the ceiling, which is crammed with books. The walls are painted in a cool sage green colour, complimenting her Scandi - which is characterised by simplicity, minimalism and functionality - style.

The bathroom features a freestanding tub and a separate wet roomIn another photo she shared back in 2017, the presenter and revered make-up artist Sali Hughes sit in the bath as they filmed an interview. Claudia's bathroom walls and floor are made from a crisp white marble and the bath is a freestanding tub with swanky silver taps. The bathroom has a sleek white vanity unit, while the shower appears to be in a separate wet room with white subway tiles on the walls.
The Traitor star's kitchen is very much the same style featuring huge underlit slabs of marble on the walls and muted grey tones. The mum-of-three also has a state-of-the art fridge from where she can take her pick of organic ingredients when she's rustling up a snack after Strictly.
Claudia's sizeable terrace is shrouded with greeneryElsewhere, an on-trend hessian carpet runs up the white-washed stairs, which lead out onto a sizeable terrace, which is shrouded with greenery offering privacy for the famous family.
Speaking about the location of her home, Claudia previously told the Evening Standard: "I can leave my house at 4am and buy a kebab, rent a movie and get some shampoo. I love my shower, my bread bin and our tortoise, Yoshi."
However, while the pad may appear to have everything the Strictly star needs, one thing you probably won't find in the trendy townhouse are mirrors. Claudia's mother, former newspaper editor Eve Pollard, drilled into her daughter that focusing on one's appearance was a "waste of time" and banned mirrors in the house.
Claudia shares her central London property with her husband Kris Thykier and their children Matilda, Jake and Arthur"Rather than gazing in the mirror, I encouraged her to look inwards to the qualities that matter in the long term – intelligence, wit and character," she said. "In that regard, I tried to set her the best example I could."
Speaking of her distinctive style, which has seen her compared to rocker Alice Cooper, Claudia, said: "I was brought up by the strongest and most brilliant woman I’ve ever come across - my mum. She was strong and fantastic and taught me everything I needed to know in being female. We weren’t allowed any mirrors in the house, which would explain how I do my makeup... and the fact I look like I’ve slept in a skip."
