Thieving cat causes havoc stealing neighbours' shoes, gloves and dishcloths
A cat has become known for stealing from residents in his neighbourhood.
The Tennessee feline named Karate Chop has gained notoriety for his peculiar habit of stealing various items, ranging from shoes to bucket hats. The cat's owner, Samantha Foster, revealed that Karate Chop's thieving tendencies began shortly after she got him, starting with artificial flowers.
Over the past six months, the one-year-old feline has expanded his repertoire to include toddlers' shoes, Nike trainers, adult men's tennis shoes, hats, dishcloths, gloves, and even a mop head. Samantha took to social media platforms, including Facebook, to reach out to her neighbours and locate the owners of the missing items.

Despite the thefts, Karate Chop seems to have charmed his way out of trouble with the neighbours, who find his antics amusing rather than bothersome. Samantha shared her experience, stating that Karate Chop's name is derived from his actions and that he is part of a bonded pair of cats.

He is part of a bonded pair and it comes as no surprise that he is the annoying little brother of the two.
"There was a post on our neighbourhood Facebook page from someone who had left their shoes out to dry overnight and woke up to one missing. Knowing first-hand who it might be, Karate Chop's first victim gave me the tip and I just could not believe it. There it was, in my backyard.
"I came home one day, and there was a toddler-sized bucket hat. I laughed, but I immediately thought of a couple of neighbours in my cul-de-sac with toddlers. I apologised and explained that I think my cat may have a problem."

Samantha added: "I truly have the best neighbours. I live in a little cul-de-sac and they are all aware of his pristine hunting skills. Thankfully they all seem to get a good laugh out of it."
Samantha previously told The Dodo: "He has been bringing home odd ‘treasures’ for about a year now, but shoes became a favourite in the last six months, and apparently he really likes Nike. It was when he brought one all the way up to my bedroom that he really got my attention. It was a toddler-sized tennis shoe. All I kept thinking about was that poor mom somewhere thinking to herself that she is losing her mind looking for this missing shoe. I even wrote a Facebook post to see if anyone in the neighbourhood claimed it."
