Glazers to hold meeting after fresh Man Utd offer as Bellingham snub backed
A breakthrough finally appears to have been made in the Manchester United takeover process after Sir Jim Ratcliffe submitted a fresh proposal.
The process has been ongoing since last November as the Glazers sought fresh investment in the Red Devils. Ratcliffe has been battling Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani for control of the club ever since, but the Englishman finally appears to have pulled ahead.
The Glazers will now hold a meeting to discuss his offer, which comes as Paul Scholes backed Jude Bellingham's decision to snub a move to Old Trafford. Here, Mirror Football rounds up the latest Manchester United news.
Scholes backs Bellingham snub
United legend Paul Scholes has backed Jude Bellingham's decision to snub a move to Old Trafford back in 2020. Bellingham had the choice to move to United or Borussia Dortmund, with the rising star choosing to join the Bundesliga side.
"I think Jude Bellingham for his age and what he’s accomplished so far in his short career, he’s better than anything we've seen. We were very close to signing him, but he decided to go to Borussia Dortmund which looks the right thing from what’s happened over the past couple of years," he told TNT Sports.
Marcel Sabitzer completes Man Utd transfer after last-minute deadline day dash
“It was a really brave move for him but he looks such a driven lad, such a determined lad, such a professional player with so much talent. It’s incredible but he’s got the temperament to go with it. Nothing seems to faze him.”

David Beckham has denied involvement in Sheikh Jassim's bid for Manchester United (AP)David Beckham has denied he has held talks with Sheikh Jassim over a potential role in the Qatari banker's takeover bid for United. There were rumours that the United legend could make a return as part of Sheikh Jassim's offer, something he has now denied.
"At the moment there has been no discussion. I have had a long-standing relationship with Qatar, because of my involvement with PSG. Obviously there will be some connection and people put two and two together," he told CNBC.
"I want to see an ownership group who will take the club back to what it should be. I am not saying the past owners have done a bad job but it is the right time for someone else to take over."

Glazers to hold Ratcliffe meeting
The Glazer family are set to hold a meeting 'within days' to discuss Sir Jim Ratcliffe's fresh takeover proposal. The British billionaire is now looking to take a minority stake of 25 percent in United, which has given him an 'edge' over Sheikh Jassim.
According to Bloomberg, the Glazers prefer this arrangement over Sheikh Jassim's offer of a full takeover. A board meeting is expected in the coming days to allow club chiefs to discuss Ratcliffe's proposal.
There is 'no certainty' though that the Glazers will agree to give up a 25 percent stake in the Red Devils. There is also a chance that Sheikh Jassim could increase his offer to make it more attractive.
