Holly Willoughby has announced her decision to leave This Morning after 14 years fronting the ITV show - and we want to know what YOU think.

Taking to Instagram yesterday (October 10), the 42-year-old shared that she “will not be returning” to the programme, and “I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family”. The statement reads: “I have let ITV know today that, after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning.

“It’s been an honour to just be part of its story and I know this story has many chapters left to go. Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family. I will miss you all so much.” The news comes just days after the presenter was on “indefinite leave”, with Alison Hammond stepping in to present alongside Josie Gibson on October 5.

The latest blow comes after a tumultuous year for This Morning, which started when Holly and her sidekick Phillip Schofield faced backlash for “jumping” the queue at the Queen’s lying in state. Things got worse when Schofield, 61, left the sofa in May after lying about a relationship with a much younger colleague.

During this time, former co-star Ranj Singh took to Twitter to blast ITV for having a “toxic culture”. Last month, This Morning lost its best daytime show title at the National Television Awards to BBC One’s The Repair Shop. The show has won in the daytime, live magazine or topical magazine category at the NTAs every year since 2011.
