A woman who explores the world by herself has opened up about the four countries that have left her feeling unsafe during her travels.

Chloe Jade is a photographer and social media influencer who spends her days moving from place to place, recording her travels as she does and sharing them with her large number of followers. The North Californian woman has been to more than 80 counties and has no plans of stopping any time soon.

As much as she loves meeting new people in new places, Chloe has some reservations about a handful of places in particular and has advised women also travelling alone to think carefully before stopping off there. In a video with her 301,500 followers on TikToker the globe-trotter begins: "This was a video that was requested by many people so I decided that I should make it."

"No hate to these countries, please don't take this that the entire country is unsafe, just that you should take more caution when going to these cities. I hate to say it but as women we do have to be vigilant, especially for women of colour," the explorer said.

Chloe was careful to note that she had not run into serious issues in any country but that she had left a small handful feeling unsafe. She urged those thinking of following in her footsteps to remain 'safe' and 'vigilant', and not to necessarily avoid these 'amazing' countries.

For example when visiting Paris at 22-years-old, she warns that a local 'lured' her into getting a beer with him, and warning bells went off when he tried to entice the young traveller down an alley way far from her hotel. Chloe said: "I told him to f-off and I ran back to my hotel. I passed out as soon as I got back, I had cold sweats the whole night and I felt like he definitely put something in my drink."

While this encounter is more than enough to leave someone feeling like they're quite down with a place, Paris is generally considered as a quite safe city. You can wander in almost every district with a very low risk of mugging or being pick-pocketed.

The centre and the most touristy area of Paris - such as Le Marais, the Latin quarter and the Louvre area - are well lit and vibrant during the day and night. Some parts of the city, much as most large settlements across Europe, can be a bit dicier when the sun goes down, such as Les Halles.

Meanwhile, a trip to Marrakech also left her unsettled. She explained: "Now overall, I loved my trip to Morocco and I actually enjoyed my time in Marrakech as well but Dilar was with me and she did not feel super safe on the streets in Marrakesh," she said of her experience in the North African city with a pal. "It's a very old city so the walls are very tight together and there's little passageways everywhere although I personally did not feel super unsafe a lot of the young men were pretty aggressive."

Other destinations which left Chloe unimpressed included Pattaya in Thailand where she says "it just feels gross" and that she felt "extremely uncomfortable" because of the city's reputation for debauchery, as well as Serbia where she warned other American travellers that she felt "hostility" from locals.

It just feels gross, there's so many foreign men that are coming there to you know do terrible things and it made me feel extremely uncomfortable," Chloe said of the city. "Overall I think it was just that they really did not like Americans," she claimed.
