Helen Flanagan prepares to tear 70k car apart to rescue precious family heirloom

Helen Flanagan revealed she paid mechanics to rip apart her £70k car to help her relocate a precious family heirloom.

The 33-year-old Coronation Street actress was in a state of panic after she accidentally dropped the rings of a sentimental necklace between the seats. The distraught mum-of-three says the sentimental necklace featuring three rings was worn by her grandmother before she tragically passed away.

Taking to her Instagram stories on Tuesday, she said: "I went to London the other week, I wanted to borrow my mum's necklace. She has this really nice Cartier love necklace. I asked my mum if i could borrow it because it matched my outfit.

"Long story short, when my nana wasn't well, during COVID, she was in hospital, I gave her the necklace because i knew i couldn't see her so i wanted her to wear it. When my nana passed away she had the necklace. My mum then wanted the necklace because my nana used to wear it.

She continued: "There's three rings on this necklace. I said to my mum, be really careful so that the rings do not come off. When she passed me the necklace they just literally fell."

Helen said she was able to retrieve two of the rings, however, she struggled to find the third. Parked outside a garage, she told her followers her car seat would likely be removed for mechanics to find the missing ring,

The soap star purchased her £70k Audi earlier this year just after she ditched her smaller Range Rover. This evening, the mum posted a cryptic swipe at her ex Scott Sinclair. Helen, who began dating Scott in 2009, when she was 19 said: "Whenever I’m having a bad day I just stop and remind myself at least I don’t have my ex’s name tattooed on my body.”

The actress and 34-year-old footballer called it quits in October 2022, after becoming engaged in May 2018. At the time of their break-up, a source said: "Helen and Scott really tried to work on their relationship but ultimately she saw the ring breaking as a bad omen and one that meant she shouldn't get married." She has since opened up about their relationship and said: "We were broken up for like six months but it wasn't really a breakup because we weren't sleeping together anyway."
