It's no secret that, overtime, pillows will discolour, turning from bright white to a shade of yellow. The staining is simply a culmination of natural body oils and natural oils - but it's unsightly and unpleasant to see.

Thankfully, help is at hand. Rather than replacing your pillows, there is a hack for getting rid of those stains - and it's so simple.

The top tip was shared on the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips and Tricks Facebook page. One cleaning fan said: "Well ladies, you all know how yellow our hubby's pillows get, I have in the past sprayed with Pink Stuff and left in the bath for a while, then added it to the wash. This was great at first, then it didn't really work so well at removing tough stains anymore.

"But I tried one scoop of Napisan in washer on an hour wash on sixty and it's like new. Wish I'd taken before photos, it's brilliant." Napisan is designed to kill germs you cannot see to leave your garments more hygienically clean. Its non-bio formula releases active oxygen to help remove even the toughest stains and brighten whites.

Mrs Hinch fans are big lovers of the product. "I just put a couple of scoops in the drum with washing powders let it soak for about 30 mins and carry on with washing cycle. I use it all the time as a booster for my whites," one shared. "Best thing EVER!! I soak white towels and sheets in it. Been using it for decades," said a second.

An 800g box of Napisan typically retails for £4.50 in most supermarkets but can be found at Sainsbury's right now for £4 on Nectar price. Since only 60g of the product needs to be used for heavy stains, one wash will only set households back 30p. Just last week, another hack went viral on a Facebook page inspired by Mrs Hinch when one woman asked: "What's the best way to get black mould off a window frame?" She was met with hundreds of replies, with the majority pointing her to the Astonish Mould & Mildew spray, which costs just £1.25 from the likes of Poundland.

One person said: "The fastest and best way to remove mould or mildew is to use the Astonish mould spray. It’s magic, it only takes 10 minutes to work." But it's not the only way to use it as others said they use it as a preventative on surfaces that are prone to getting mould.

The Astonish brand recommends users spray any area with mould and leave for a few minutes before wiping clean, and it regularly shares cleaning hacks from impressed shoppers to its TikTok page, including from fellow cleaning enthusiast Cleaning With Danielle.
