Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins was savagely blocked in an attempt to tackle his own pick-six against the Carolina Panthers.

The quarterback threw an interception at the goal line to Panthers safety Sam Franklin, who performed a 99-yard dash for a touchdown with Cousins getting trucked in the process. Panthers Cornerback D'Shawn Jamison was the man who smashed into Cousins to make sure that Franklin made it safely down the sideline for the score.

"We really need to stop this agenda of Kirk Cousins being good," one fan fumed on X, formerly Twitter. "Justin Jefferson deserves so much better. If they lose this week tank for Caleb man."

Another said: "When are the Vikings going to realize that you CAN’T WIN WITH KIRK COUSINS?"

Cousins' throw being picked off heaped more misery on the Vikings, who are 0-3 in the 2023 NFL season. The 35-year-old did, however, up his game in the second quarter, throwing a touchdown pass before a field goal put seven points on the board for Minnesota. Cousins also went on to register a second touchdown pass as Minnesota came from behind to beat Carolina 21-13.

A re-build has been touted at the Vikings, who by Sunday night could find themselves 4-0 and their season all but over. Cousins and star man Justin Jefferson, however, won't be available to be traded, according to The Athletic.

Cousins has been a popular trade nominee for the New York Jets, who are suffering with Zach Wilson as its starter in place of the injured Aaron Rodgers.

Jefferson himself has said that he is "tired" of the trade speculation. "I'm tired of people saying we're looking to next season," he fumed. "All of the trades and stuff like that. We're focused still on this season.

"We have a lot more games to go and a lot more things to accomplish this season. We're still focused in and we still have that same goal as we had before the season. We just need to fix a few things and we'll be back on track."
