Chelsea land £40m cash injection to ease FFP fears after Boehly's splurge
Chelsea have finally confirmed their search for a shirt sponsor is over, with the Blues partnering with Infinite Athlete in a deal worth £40million.
The Premier League strugglers have been without a sponsor since their deal with telecoms group Three ended over the summer. They started the season with blank shirts, but after eight games, that run will now end.
It follows a summer in which owner Todd Boehly again splashed the cash, with Chelsea spending more than £460m in total. After another window of heavy spending, concerns over Financial Fair Play have been growing at Stamford Bridge.
Those concerns appear to have been eased somewhat by the announcement of the deal with Infinite Athlete. The company's branding will appear on the front of Chelsea men's and women's teams' playing kits and training kit sleeve from this weekend.
It is only a one-year deal though, while fans will have to wait before being able to buy shirts with the new sponsors on. Infinite Athlete offers an integrated platform covering everything from broadcast viewing to athlete performance.

They already work with Chelsea on powering 'innovative technology enchancements', including the launch of a 'Match View X' option in the club's app. The technology provides fans with customisable broadcasts and engagement opportunities.
It is hoped that will set the stage for a successful partnership, with Chelsea eyeing further new products that will be co-created with Infinite Athlete. Blues CEO Chris Jurasek is certainly confident that the future is bright.

Infinite Athlete are also delighted to be linking up with the Blues. The company's co-founder and CEO Charlie Edersol has hailed the beginnings of a "fantastic partnership" and admitted it is a "huge honour" to become the official shirt sponsors.
“Since the beginning of this year, we have established a fantastic partnership with Chelsea FC, launching MVX in just a few months, and strategizing on how we can properly serve Chelsea fans, players, the coaching staff and more with our proprietary technology,” he said.
“Debuting our new global entity - Infinite Athlete, to the world on football’s premier global stage, and on the front of the legendary Chelsea FC kit is a great honour and we are humbled by the opportunity to be able to continue this journey alongside the best in the world.”
