EastEnders will air some shocking scenes this Christmas - as a dead body is found.

There have been lots of theories floating around about who the mystery man that is murdered this Christmas is. Guesses have included the likes of Phil Mitchell, Keanu Taylor and even Nish Panesar. However, a lot of viewers are convinced it could be Nish's son Ravi Gulati who actually ends up dying this Christmas in huge scenes for the BBC soap.

Here, The Mirror looks at all the reasons why Ravi could be the dead body this Christmas, and what that might mean for the rest of the residents if he was the identity of the mystery man who loses his life in a few weeks time.

Cufflinks clue

We've always been told by soap executive producer Chris Clenshaw to "follow the cufflinks" as so far, that's all we know about the man who dies in the Vic. We don't know his name, or anything about him - but we do know he is wearing a specific pair of cufflinks.

The cufflinks, we now know, belong to Nish Panesar, although they have been passed around quite a lot since they first appeared. Nish lost them in a poker game to Rocky, who handed them over to Jack as he didn't want them. Just last week, they made an appearance again as Jack gave them to Phil Mitchell to wear on his wedding day - so currently they are with Phil.

However, some viewers are convinced that Nish could get them back one day soon and even give them to his son. There is a possibility that if Nish gets them back, he could pass them down to his own son, meaning Ravi would end up with the cursed cufflinks.

New arrival

Ravi's life is set to be rocked by the arrival of his ex Priya and his secret daughter Avani this Autumn. Ravi had been adamant to keep his son Nugget away from Priya, but he was not aware that she was actually pregnant again following their split. Priya had chosen not to tell him about their daughter, so their arrival in the Square is no doubt going to be quite the bombshell for Ravi.

Speaking about their arrival, Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw, said: "We’re excited to introduce Priya and Avani, two women guaranteed to cause big drama in Albert Square. Little is known about Ravi and Priya’s doomed romance, but she’s a big missing piece in his past. The revelation that he’s got another child will floor Ravi, and he is set to face a big challenge in his life when he is forced to cope with such a big shock to the system. We’re delighted to welcome Sophie and Aaliyah to the EastEnders family."

Murder twist

Ravi certainly isn't the most favourable person on the Square. He murdered Ranveer, a storyline that was recently revisited when the footage resurfaced. It could be that this will start off a new storyline that could culminate in Ravi's death this Christmas?

We know Denise is getting increasingly concerned about Ravi's relationship with Chelsea. The pair had a brief fling earlier this year, but could him and Chelsea make it all the way to Christmas, and would Denise kill to save her daughter?

Whilst Ravi has smashed the laptop with the footage on, eagle eyed EastEnders fans will remember that Nish also has it on a USB drive, so will the footage come out again near Christmas, and will it lead to Ravi's death?

The ultimate revenge

Ravi has been selling drugs to Cindy Beale and George Knight's daughter Gina Knight, which ultimately led to her collapse a few weeks back. Gina has been struggling with her drug use, and rather than try and stop her, Ravi encouraged her to buy off him.

It nearly led to her death just a few weeks back, so could that mean someone would kill Ravi in revenge for letting Gina nearly die from her drug use? Could Cindy be the one who kills the man, or even Elaine - both are strong women who might be keen to take their revenge on Ravi, but could that all culminate at Christmas with the dead body in the Queen Vic?
