Bruce Willis' daughter 'saves every voicemail' from him after dementia diagnosis

Bruce Willis' daughter Tallulah Willis revealed that she's been saving his voicemails and documenting his life in photos following the retired actor's dementia diagnosis.

It was announced last year that Bruce, now 68, had been diagnosed with aphasia. His family said the condition was impacting his cognitive abilities. And it was revealed that the actor - known for films like Die Hard (1988) - would retire.

His family issued an update in February this year, in which it was shared that his condition had "progressed". They announced that he'd since been given a "more specific diagnosis" of frontotemporal dementia, known as FTD.

His wife Emma Heming Willis and his eldest children - whom he shares with his ex-wife Demi Moore - have raised awareness around both conditions. They have shared insight into FTD including about the symptons, for example.

Bruce's daughter Tallulah has been among his relatives who have provided a glimpse into their lives. She wrote about her experience in a piece for British Vogue earlier this year, in which she discussed her approach to her father's health.

Tallulah - who's the youngest of Bruce's three children with Demi - said that she had initially met his "decline" with "avoidance and denial" due to circumstances in her life. She however said that she's since felt prepared for the situation.

She wrote in the piece that she wants to "savour that time" and revealed that she has been documenting her father's life for when he's no longer with them. She said it includes taking photos and saving voicemails that he leaves her.

Tallulah said: "Every time I go to my dad's house, I take tons of photos - of whatever I see, the state of things." She then compared herself to an archaeologist, as she searches for "treasure in stuff" that she didn't use to pay much attention to.

She continued: "I have every voicemail from him saved on a hard drive." Tallulah commented about her approach: "I find that I'm trying to document, to build a record for the day when he isn't there to remind me of him and of us."
