A new browser extension from the team at NordVPN promises to protect Gmail users from dangerous scam and spam emails. The tech firm has just launched its experimental new browser extension called Sonar which it hopes will stop a worrying new trend in its tracks. Nord Security's Vykintas Maknickas argued that tools like this are quickly becoming essential to help keep internet users safe. Sonar can be easily installed as a browser extension on Google Chrome once you sign up to the NordLabs platform.

If you're not already a member, there's a waiting list you can join and try out the feature before it gets rolled out more widely to NordVPN users.

Sonar isn't the only handy NordLabs tool, as there's also a feature called Pixray which you can use to find out if images are AI generated online.

NordVPN is one of the world's top cybersecurity firms and offers a range of services designed to keep Internet users protected. The firm's National Privacy Test can even give you a digital security score to show you where you're most at risk—and work out what you need to do to stay safe.
