EastEnders Christmas death clues - Cufflinks twist, victim and hints you missed
EastEnders' Christmas Day murder twist is edging closer and closer, and a number of clues may have exposed who dies and who the killer is.
Viewers know that a mystery male character will die this Christmas, with one of six females tipped to be the killer. The moment was teased in a flashforward in February, with Denise Fox, Suki Panesar, Stacey Slater, Kathy Beale, Sharon Watts and Linda Carter all stood over a dead body in The Queen Vic, while the male's identity is not known.
It seems like a showdown has occurred as all the women are either covered in blood or their clothes are ripped. Since the clip aired, clues have been dropped across social media and in episodes which hint at what happens. From hints of a past link to another episode, cufflink clues, to victims and motives being shared online, there's a number of theories as to what happens. There's been loads of clues recently so here are the latest ones, and some you may have missed.
EastEnders has dropped a number of clues in recent episodesKeanu alcohol scene
Viewers were sure a new clue suggested Keanu could die, after he was seen necking green shots at The Queen Vic after drama with Sharon and Phil. Earlier this year, EastEnders dropped a new flashforward clip of Denise, who is wearing the same green dress as the first flashforward, drinking a green cocktail as she sits alone in the Queen Vic. With bells ringing in the background, Denise stares menacingly before smashing her cocktail glass on the floor. Soap watchers were quick to link Keanu necking green shots to Denise's green dress and cocktail in the Christmas flashforward, especially as Keanu smashed a glass on Tuesday night just like Denise. There's also the fact Keanu is drinking the shot in The Vic, and in the same area that the body will lay dead.
Stacey and Jack affair twist
Viewers are speculating an affair (BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron)Viewers are speculating an affair could be on the way for Stacey Slater and Jack Branning after recent scenes. The pair have been bickering in scenes over their shared baby granddaughter, but recently Jack has helped Stacey amid her stalker ordeal.
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likeness
Stacey was heard calling Jack her "knight in shining armour", with fans recalling that in the flashforward clip there's a figure of a knight stood behind Stacey. Jack's wife Denise is wearing green, and now some viewers are wondering if jealous Denise might kill Jack after a possible affair with Stacey.
New cufflinks clue
The mystery cufflinks reappeared (BBC)The body in the flashforward clip was shown wearing a pair of amber cufflinks which suddenly made their debut on the show a few months ago, revealed to belong to Nish Panesar. Nish lost them to Rocky Cotton in a poker game, and he gave them to Jack Branning. Now, Phil Mitchell has them in his possession after Jack gave them to him on his wedding day. So does Phil die, or will they end up being passed on to someone else?
Ravi 'dead'
Ravi is hotly tipped to be the victim (BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron)Ravi is hotly tipped to be the victim on the floor this Christmas, and recent clues are only adding to the theory. His former fling Denise Fox recently made a comment about him that could have been a major hint. In a recent episode, Jack urged Denise to attend a family meal where Ravi would be for Chelsea's sake.
As Jack called for them to attend she said: "Over my dead body." Later, Jack said of the event: "It's hardly gonna kill us to be nice for a couple of hours will it?" Given Ravi's recent antics, Suki, Denise, Stacey and Sharon might all want to hurt Ravi. Kathy looks as Suki in the flashforward as if the victim is linked to her, and then there's the fact Ravi's recent outfits have matched some of the coloured dresses worn at Christmas.
Christmas 2019 link
The fire in the scene could be a clue (BBC)One other theory is that the big episode is actually linked to a Christmas Day episode from the soap's past, and that a scene four years ago may have foreshadowed tragic events to air in 2023. In the flashforward fans noticed the song Stay Another Day by East 17 playing, while there was also a fire burning and crackling behind the women.
Back in 2019, this same music played at the very end of the episode that aired on Christmas Day of this year after Martin Fowler seemingly killed Keanu Taylor. Not only that, but the scene ended with Martin staring into a burning fire that could be heard crackling. So could this scene in 2019 have foreshadowed the events of 2023, and does this mean Martin or Keanu might die?
Seven deadly sins
Another theory is that the plot and the coloured dresses of the six women could be linked to the seven deadly sins, and that perhaps more characters will be involved who are yet to be shown in the scene. All six women are wearing a different coloured dress in the scene and in the promo images.
One viewer suggested the colours represented the seven deadly sins, with a number of colours associated with the sins worn by the characters involved asides from orange and yellow, and light blue. Fans may remember the coloured balloons in The Vic for Anna's birthday recently, which were of the same colour as the dresses all except for three - orange, yellow and light blue. So could the fan be right, and does this confirm that two or three more women could well be involved in the big Christmas plot?
Promo picture 'hint'
Stacey, Suki, Linda, Sharon, Denise and Kathy are in the sceneOne eagle-eyed viewer of the BBC soap is convinced they've worked out which of the six women could be the killer after spotting a clever clue from the promotional pictures, which see the women in six different colour dresses. Taking to Twitter, the fan shared their thoughts on the photos, writing: "I've noticed in the Six’s posters everyone has a hand on their hip, in a powerful domineering stance apart from Linda who has her hands down in front of her in a more defensive stance.
"Could this be a hint that the others are protecting Linda from potentially Dean?" Could Linda's stance give away that she is the Christmas killer, and that the others are protecting her - or even that the others killed the man in a bid to protect Linda from something or someone?
