A disgruntled sibling has asked for advice after accusing their sister of choosing YouTube vlogger career over her family’s privacy. The parent explained that their sister is a content creator / influencer on the channel, and that things recently came to a head over her upcoming wedding.

Given her job, the influencer bride is receiving discounts and even payment in exchange for sharing the preparation and wedding day itself on social media. And part of the wedding party includes her 10-year-old niece, who she had asked to be a flower girl.

This caused an issue with the sibling - not least because the bride had previously shared a video of her nieces and nephews at Disney. Despite giving permission for her to share the footage at the time, the sibling says she "felt really uncomfortable and violated afterwards with how many random strangers viewed and commented on my kids,” in a Reddit post.

With that in mind, the sister was asked to confirm that the little girl wouldn't be present in any of the wedding content she posts online - something the bride believes to be an 'unreasonable request'. "I said it's simple, just ask the videographer and her fellow content creator friends in the party not to film my daughter. But my sister feels like this will lead to things looking 'weird' and 'inorganic'. We said even if he accidentally gets her they can blur her face. She disagrees, so we said then unfortunately daughter will not be participating in the ceremony.

“My wife and I believe this should be easily doable and it shows that my sister at least partially wants my daughter involved simply because she wants a cute kid to be in the wedding content. However my sister is framing it as us being terrible and forcing her to 'choose' between her career and our family. The thing is that as I said she's not super close with our kids... she's great when she's here and it's not like I expect a 29 year old to be overly invested with kids or anything, but it does feel pretty inauthentic to now claim they're soooo close that it would be 'heartbreaking' if [our] daughter wasn't in it.”

The post struck a chord with readers who landed firmly on the side of the parent. "Your daughter is a minor and shouldn't be posted all over the internet," one said. "Besides the fact that she isn't mature enough to have a say, there are people out there that are willing to do nefarious things with her image. You're just protecting your daughter. Your sister doesn't get it."

Of course, weddings can be fraught with tension. And for one guest, their attendance came with a hefty price tag. He revealed that a bride and groom had charged invitees almost £2,000 to attend their wedding . And no, food and drink weren't included!

Meanwhile, another bride recently came under fire for requesting that her bridesmaids not only wear matching blue contact lenses, but also dye their hair to fit the theme of her winter wonderland wedding. People were outraged by the demand and took to the comments section. "I would've backed out on the demand to wear contacts. Trying to force others to bleach hair for a wedding? Absurd. Just back out now, it's not worth being part of this crazy Elsa themed wedding. She's only going to get worse. Run."
