The Chase viewers fume as they say Chaser's 'wrong answer' cost players £90k
The Chase viewers are all saying the same thing after contestants lost out on more than £90,000 during Wednesday night's programme. Players Gavin, Meera and Katie went home empty-handed, losing a life-changing amount of cash to Paul Sinha.
'The Sinnerman' concluded a tense final round with just one second to spare, sending the three players packing after they built up their big money prize over several cash builders. The team had built up 16 points, but it wasn't enough.
After beating the players, fuming viewers couldn't help but notice one of Paul's answers didn't sound quite right. In one of the jackpot-ending answers, Sinha was asked about One Direction, and the correct answer should have been "Liam Payne".
Paul beat three players with just one second to go (ITV)But sceptical ITV gameshow fans weren't convinced 'The Sinnerman' gave the correct answer, insisting he said something else, suggesting the trio missed out on the prize pot by mistake. Taking to X, formally Twitter, viewers were raging.
One fan blasted: "I'm sure I just heard him say Ian Payne?" While another commented: "Rewatching it I’m almost certain Paul said Ian instead of Liam." A third insisted: "Paul definitely said the wrong answer, I heard Ian?"

Another added: "Did he just say Ian?" As a fifth insisted: "Did anyone notice Paul answer Ian instead of Liam?" The giant prize pot wasn't Paul's biggest, only recently he broke ITV records by offering the highest prize yet to a contestant on the quiz show.
Earlier this month, Bradley Walsh welcomed four new players hoping to take on tough general knowledge questions in the hopes of securing a hefty prize. However, they were not expecting the prize money to be so big.
Myles, 26, was the final player to face 'The Sinnerman' after one of his fellow contestants had already been eliminated. Two of his co-stars were already safe and supported Myles as he tried to bag more money for the prize pot. Paul had previously "taunted" Myles after he confessed he didn't think he'd be tempted to take the high offer.
The contestant headed to the table with £6,000 and it was up to Paul to put his low and high offers down. He said: "Well it is not very generous this, minus £2,000." Bradley asked for his high offer, to which the professional quizzer replied: "I taunted you a little bit earlier that you wouldn't go high. What about if you got the highest offer we have ever offered on a daytime show of £109,000?"
Myles was left gobsmacked as fellow contestant Anna gasped. He had a discussion with his team ahead of deciding which offer to pick. Myles was urged to stick with the £6,000 but he had other ideas. Bradley could see he was going to not take his teammate's advice and added: "Complete no-brainer." Myles replied: "I didn't think I'd go for the higher offer. But it's a six-figure sum. It's got to be the 109."
"You have got to!" exclaimed Bradley as he told Myles he had nothing to lose and shook his hand. Ahead of the round, Paul said: "I have no idea what's about to happen next but by taking that offer you've made history, whatever happens." Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be for Myles as he was caught by the Chaser when he was three from home.
