Sharon Osbourne hits out Russell Brand's behaviour with celeb pals' daughters
Sharon Osbourne has hit out at Russell Brand's past behaviour and treatment of Rod Stewart and Bob Geldof's daughters.
The 48-year-old comedian has been accused of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse by four women after a joint investigation by The Sunday Times and Channel 4’s Dispatches, claims that he vehemently denies. He was alleged to have had a relationship with a 16-year-old girl, and has been accused of chasing women for sex on the spin-off show Big Brother’s Little Brother. Russell took to social media to deny any wrongdoing in a lengthy video, in which he blamed the “mainstream media” for planning a “coordinated attack” on him.
Speaking to Piers Morgan on his TalkTV show, Sharon, 70, said Russell’s previous run-ins with Rod Stewart and Bob Geldof over his relationships with their daughters left her unimpressed with his disrespectful treatment of the rockers.

“And then he did the same with Sir Bob Geldof… You just don't do that to people's families, when that father is in the room. He's done it twice now and that's the thing that sticks with me,” she confessed. Back in 2006, Russell introduced Rod to the stage at the GQ Men of the Year Awards, and told the audience: “Here's to Rod Stewart who had a go at me earlier this year for too much womanising... But then again I did have a go on his daughter.”

He also had a run-in with Bob Geldof (Getty Images)A furious Rod locked horns with him on stage, and fired: “You went with my daughter, did you? Russell, stand up.” The comedian then backtracked, and replied: “I took her out for one evening. I never touched that girl” But Rod refused to let him get away with his comment about Kimberly, and snapped: “F***ing right you didn't. You mustn't come up here and boast. I speak here as a father.” It was reported that Russell tried to make amends with the rocker, and was seen backstage speaking with Rod, now 78.
He later told the Evening Standard: “(Russell) might be a bit of a player but he shouldn't boast. I never did. Russell's been a bit timid since I had my say.” In the same year he feuded with Rod, Russell was left red-faced at the NME Awards when he presented Bob with Hero of the Year. Making a speech as he introduced the Boomtown Rats singer to the stage, he quipped: “Of course, the winner is Live 8 so please welcome to the stage Sir Bobby Gandalf.” He later joked that Bob was “such an expert in famine” because he’d been “dining out on I Don’t like Mondays for 30 years”. But the furious rocker refused to be taken down by the comedian, and taking to the stage to accept the gong, he simply said: “Russell Brand, what a c***.”
