If your Fire TV is looking a little long in the tooth, there's now a big reason to consider buying something new. Amazon has just announced a duo of devices at a launch event in Washington that are now faster, more powerful and feature a curvaceous new design.

First up, there's an upgrade to the popular Fire TV Stick 4K which now includes support for Wi-Fi 6. That means you'll get super smooth and interrupted streaming as the technology is far better than older Wi-Fi.

Then there's an updated 1.7 GHZ quad-core processor, making this latest Stick nearly 30% more powerful than the previous generation. That will make scrolling through menus and launching apps feel much faster than before. Dolby Atmos audio with support for Dolby Vision also comes included.

Those wanting something even better can switch things up to the new Fire TV Stick 4K Max which gets even better Wi-Fi 6E technology and an upgraded 2.0 GHz quad-core processor.

Amazon says this makes the Fire TV Stick 4K Max its smartest and most powerful streaming stick yet.

Fire TV Stick 4K Max also features 16GB of storage, doubling the previous generation’s capacity, and enabling customers to store even more apps and games directly on the device.

The final thing owners of this new device get is something called Fire TV Ambient Experience.

This stunning extra can turn your TV into an in-home art gallery. Simply ask Alexa or hold down the “Home” or “Alexa” buttons on the remote when not streaming to replace blank TV screens with beautiful artwork. Amazon says there are loads of different pictures to choose from and all are completely free.

“Our mission at Fire TV is to reinvent what customers can expect from a smart TV experience. That’s why the Fire TV Ambient Experience has resonated with so many customers—it’s made their TVs smarter, more useful, and added creativity and beauty to their homes,” said Emma Gilmartin, Director of Fire TV and Fire Tablets Europe.

“Today, we’re thrilled to bring the Ambient Experience to more customers in the United Kingdom with the new Fire TV Stick 4K Max, the industry’s first streaming stick to include support for Wi-Fi 6E. We’re also excited to deliver Fire TV’s best-ever 4K experience for under £60 with the new Fire TV Stick 4K.”
