Logan Paul fears Dillon Danis is "trying to injure himself" in training video

Logan Paul fears Dillon Danis is attempting to injure himself in order to be ruled out of their pay-per-view fight after recent footage showed his strange training method.

Danis can be seen in a new social media video in the sauna after training, seemingly hitting his head against the wooden wall in what is believed to be an "head conditioning" exercise. But Paul feels that it is a thinly-veiled attempt to give himself a concussion or other brain injury in order for a doctor to rule him out of the fight.

Paul even shared a video of himself mocking the method, himself stepping into a sauna and bumping his head against the wooden panels to show the ridiculousness of the drill. But his concerns about Danis skipping fight night appear valid, given his four years out of action after myriad issues cost him a number of bouts.

"Dillon is already trying to injure himself so he doesn't have to fight me," Paul wrote in a social media post showing off Danis' outlandish training method. He then shared footage of himself trying it, as well as another video showing Danis as some sort of cartoon bird pecking at a tree.

The build-up for the pair's fight has been some of the most heated in recent boxing memory, with Danis taking particular aim at Paul's fiancee Nina Agdal. She has even slapped him with a $150,000 lawsuit and been granted a Temporary Restraining Order after he relentlessly posted mocking images and videos to social media in order to attempt to rile up Paul.

Paul and Misfits Boxing have implemented a major financial penalty if Danis fails to meet his contractual obligation on October 14, but the YouTube star fears he will still find a way out of the bout. During an episode of his podcast Impaulsive last week he theorised that the MMA fighter would get himself infected with coronavirus in order to be medically ruled out.

“In thinking of the ways that Dillon can like make excuses and lie and back out of this fight I thought of one that actually could be a good thing for him,” he said. “I’m going to say this right now. What’s the date? September 13th. I predict that he’s going to somehow intentionally give himself COVID to back out from the fight.

“I think he’s going to find someone with COVID and like lick their feet or something and use it to get a positive COVID test to back out of the fight.”
