Arsenal enjoyed yet another positive weekend upon their return from the international break.

The Gunners made it four wins from five matches at the start of the campaign. They overcame Everton 1-0 to secure their first win at Goodison Park since 2017.

Belgian winger Leandro Trossard scored the winning goal for Arsenal midway through the second half. Victory leaves the Gunners in fourth in the Premier League standings ahead of kicking off their Champions League campaign against Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in midweek.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has revealed that Gabriel Martinelli suffered a hamstring injury during Sunday’s win over Everton. The Brazilian winger was taken off injured in the process of scoring at Goodison Park - his goal eventually being chalked off by VAR due to an offside offence.

Speaking about Martinelli's issue, he said: "He felt something, he felt it in his hammy [hamstring] so he will need to be assessed." Martinelli was eventually replaced by Trossard, who scored the winning goal at Goodison Park.

Ramsdale reacts to being dropped

Whilst Martinelli started the game at Goodison, one man who didn’t was goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. The England man was left on the bench in favour of summer signing David Raya - the Spaniard making his debut for the Gunners following his arrival from Brentford.

Arteta has since suggested that the decision to leave Ramsdale out was down to a rotation policy in North London. Meanwhile, the goalkeeper has reacted to being benched.

It appears not to have dampened his spirits as he was spotted smiling and sharing a hug with his goalkeeping colleague during the warm-ups on Merseyside. The decision to hand Raya his debut immediately paid off as he kept a clean sheet against Everton.
