Emails leaked from a Kremlin-backed legal aid foundation reveal that funding is being allocated to pro-Russia activities in Ukraine under the pretense of providing legal aid, as reported by RFE/RL’s Schemes project.

Australia has imposed sanctions on Pravfond, a Russian state-associated fund uncovered for financing legal support and lobbying for allies of the Kremlin overseas, including Simeon Boikov, a propagandist based in Sydney.

For more than ten years, ’Pravfond’ has been offering legal assistance to Russians worldwide. Internal emails obtained by journalists reveal how it worked together with spies, financed propaganda initiatives, and established points of influence along the way.

Pravfond, a Russian legal-aid foundation for “compatriots” abroad, has continued to fund people and organizations across the European Union — even after it was sanctioned in mid-2023.
