EuroMillions joy as lucky Brit comes forward to claim life-changing £23m prize

One lucky Brit has scooped a huge £23million share of a EuroMillions jackpot.

The life-changing win was confirmed by Camelot, with another ticket holder from Austria. Between them, the winners will equally split the £47million prize. The winning numbers are: 12, 14, 21, 45, 48 and Lucky Star numbers are: 08, 11. A total of 10 UK winners will also take home £1 million following a special edition of the Millionaire Maker draw.

The EuroMillions claim will now go through the process of validation, which includes checks to ensure terms and conditions are adhered to. Subject to validation, the prize will then be paid at an appointment with one of Camelot’s winners’ advisers.

Once the ticket has been validated and paid, the ticket holder will then decide whether or not to go public and share their news. Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said: “This is absolutely incredible news and we’re delighted that we’ve received a claim.

"This win makes it six lucky UK EuroMillions jackpot winners so far this year. Meanwhile, Tuesday's jackpot is expected to be around £14 million. Nine countries take part in the draw: Austria, Belgium, Spain, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

In the UK, 50% of the draw's revenue goes to the winners, 28% to charitable causes, 12% to the UK Government (as Lottery Duty), 5% in commission to retailers. A total of 4.5% is put into operating costs, and 0.5% in profit to Camelot.
