Britney Spears 'dating ex-housekeeper' but friends say 'he's not good for her'

Britney Spears and Paul Richard Soliz are reportedly having a fling

Less than two months after Britney Spears and Sam Asghari confirmed their marriage crumbled, Britney was spotted cosying up with Paul Richard Soliz.

However, it's been reported that Britney's friends are less than thrilled about her new fling Paul who is her former housekeeper with a criminal past including some drug charges. Entertainment Tonight reported Soliz was convicted in 2004 for possession of meth with the intent to sell and the state sentenced him to four years in prison. In 2019, he was arrested yet again, spending two days in a county jail for "disrupting the peace". He was given 36 months probation.

He didn't bow out of his criminal life, but instead doubled down when, in December 2002, he was arrested for possession of a firearm. Paul served time for this charge in early 2023, but has allegedly already violated his probation. A hearing about the violation happened on Monday where Us Weekly reportedly found out he was "trying to clear up his public image".

A source told ET that her friends are worried that he "isn't good for her" and they refused to support her relationship. According to the insider, Britney is drawn to Paul because "he makes her feel like he is acting as her protector and she finds comfort in that, especially as she moves through her split from Sam".

He said: "I'm not a bad dude. I understand that things have been said about me in the past, and I have a criminal record -- I get it. I'm a working man. I own my own business. I do a licensed contractor technique tile."

Paul was spotted by the paparazzi in a car last month with Britney, who he referred to as a "good person" recently. Now, though, the fresh fling could already be falling apart. An insider revealed to the DailyMail: "They had a short fling after Sam left but that was it. Britney hooked up with him twice and, at the time, [she] did not know about his criminal past. She no longer has any communication with him."
