Meghan Markle and Prince Harry put on a united front as they handed out gold medals to Team USA following their win in wheelchair basketball at the Invictus Games.

The couple were emotional as they greeted the players and congratulated them on their triumph. The Duchess of Sussex was pictured embracing Team USA, while her husband offered words of encouragement to the players.

As Harry and Meghan left the Merkur Spiel-Arena in Dusseldorf, they sent a strong message about their relationship, holding hands and making sure to stay close together. Their romantic gesture comes after Meghan decided to ditch her beloved engagement ring, which Harry gifted to her back in 2017.

Meghan has been accessorising her Invictus Games outfits with plenty of glitzy jewellery, but her engagement ring has been noticeably absent. The actress has been wearing her beloved $8,700 (£7,000) Cartier bracelet, as well as Princess Diana's Cartier Tank watch.

The Duchess of Sussex has also been accessioning her looks with a $62,450 (£50,000) Lorraine Schwartz diamond pinky ring. Meghan was previously seen without her engagement ring while relaxing with pals at a birthday lunch last month.

While some fans have grown concerned after Meghan was spotted without the ring, a source has said that the diamond sparkler has been damaged after a placement came lose. Speaking to Page Six, the source claimed the ring is "being fixed", which is why it's missing from her ring finger.

Harry designed Meghan's engagement ring and used two diamonds from his late mother Princess Diana's own collection, meaning it's likely to hold great sentimental value. Meghan gushed about the ring during her and Harry's official engagement interview in November 2017, describing it as "beautiful" and "incredible".

The ring also featured a diamond from Botswana and a plain gold band. However, the piece of jewellery looked rather different two years after Harry's proposal.

Meghan debuted the redesign at the Trooping of the Colour in 2019. During the event, she wore the engagement ring on a thinner micropave band - along with another stunning ring.
