Selena Gomez has hit back after footage of her went viral when she reacted to Chris Brown's VMAs nomination.

The singer was shown sitting in the audience as the nominees for Best R&B were read out and when she heard the nod for How Does it Feel by Chris and Chlöe Bailey, Selena was seen grimacing. The clip of her reaction has since been shared on social media hundreds of thousands of times.

However, it seems Selena isn't happy at the attention she has received and took to her Instagram account to comment on "being dragged". She posted up a black background on her stories as she wrote her stance on the subject on it in white letters.

Meanwhile, body language expert Judi James told The Mirror the meaning behind Selena's "sudden" and "instant" change of mood when she heard Chris mentioned. She said: "Selena's change of body language mood music is extreme and instant here.

"One second she's smiling sweetly with her head cocked to listen politely and her hands held up ready in a clapping position and the next the whole look has crumbled to be replaced with what looks extremely and eerily similar to a gesture of disgust."

Judi continued: "Those clapping hands drop down, as do her eyes as she looks down in a cut-off gesture. Her mouth movement is speedy but powerful. The corners of her mouth pull down while the upper lip lifts and even ripples.

"It looks like the kind of rejection gesture a child learns to reject food it dislikes and as adults we use it to signal at anything we really don't approve of or like.

"Selena doesn't make a whole performance of this expression, there's no head-shaking or eye-rolling to the camera but caught in a still shot it's understandable why it's been claimed she was letting her feelings known, either deliberately or subconsciously."

Interestingly, Selena has previously called herself a "huge fan" of Chris as she discussed the idea of collaborating with him. She told Capital FM in 2015: "I am such a huge fan of his. So, not to say there isn't opportunity for [a collaboration], but honestly I love his music, I think he's so incredible and I'm a big fan of hip hop."
