Vanessa Feltz's daughter has slammed Celebs Go Dating for their "cruel" edit of her broadcaster mum.

The TV and radio presenter joined the Channel 4 dating show in the hope of finding love again following her painful split with ex Ben Ofoedu. She hoped it would help her move on from the heartbreaking start of the year, however Vanessa has since said she won't take part in any more reality shows after her experience. Opening up about the dating show, Vanessa claimed Channel 4 producers "carved" her up on the series and showed her in a bad light, resulting in trolling online.

Her daughter Saskia has also spoken out against the E4 show. The 34-year-old, who is from Vanessa's marriage to surgeon Michael Kurer, said her mum is "upset at how she's been portrayed". Saskia encouraged her mum to go on the dating show as she thought it could only be a positive experience and help her get back into the dating scene after 17 years.

Speaking to Closer, she said: "It was a harsh edit. I understand they want to make good TV. But they haven't used the charming, lovely side of my mum, but have instead waited until she's been exasperated to show that side." Saskia also slammed the editing, that they only show "around two minutes of a two hour date". She also thinks her mum being an older woman on the dating show also caused backlash as co-stars Lottie Moss and Chloe Burrows get a "different level of expectation" despite doing similar actions.

Vanessa and her ex Ben ended their 17-year-long relationship earlier this year following allegations of the singer's unfaithfulness to the This Morning star. Ben later confirmed these allegations. When she joined Celebs Go Dating, Vanessa didn't expect it to be so "difficult" and was criticised by TV viewers who accused her of appearing "uninterested" and "rude" during her dates on the show. Agents Paul Brunson and Anna Williamson even told Vanessa off for being too "closed off".

"I had no idea the editors were going to carve me up like that," she said to MailOnline. "I was always on my best behaviour for hours on end and then they always showed the bit where I'm looking so p****d off at the end." She went on to say dating can be hard and is more intimate while it's being filmed. "I've learnt not to do any more reality TV," she said. It's not the first time she criticised how she was portrayed on the show. During the National Television Awards, she described the show as an "education", admitting: "It's been a little difficult in parts. I think dating is difficult. I've learned not to be as scared of it as I was at the beginning."

Vanessa also addressed the criticism she received from fans and jokingly told OK!: "Maybe, to try smiling a bit more and not looking so fed up." In a candid revelation, she shared: "But you know, actually, it's a heavily edited thing. Sometimes, I smiled for a good two hours and it was just at the very end I looked a bit fed up."
