Phillip Schofield 'on good terms' with wife Stephanie Lowe after affair scandal

Phillip Schofield is reportedly "on good terms" with wife Stephanie Lowe after admitting his "unwise" affair with a young This Morning colleague. The cancelled ITV star is thought to have attended several therapy sessions.

The 61-year-old left his wife "very angry" after revealing his antics with a young runner, something he lied to her about. But now the two are thought to be talking and he, according to insiders, is making regular visits to the family home.

Schofield once shared the property in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, with his wife of 20 years and their daughters Ruby and Molly. It's his family that close friends say have been "constant support" for the disgraced presenter.

"It's when he is with them that Phil appreciates what actually matters in his life and he is able to smile," a source told MailOnline. It was earlier in May that Phillip admitted his marriage was not "brilliant right now".

But sources say weekly therapy sessions has helped Phil 'come to terms with losing his job and best friend'. The source told MailOnline: "That's what he is mainly doing right now, reflecting on what he did wrong and trying to come to terms with his new life. It has all been an incredible shock for him and he is struggling to get his head around it.

"He feels like he needs to have someone professional to talk it all through with. The situation has put a lot of stress on his family and he decided that he needed another outlet. Phil's life has changed in a way that previously would have been inconceivable for him to have imagined.

"Look at this time last year, when he was also returning to This Morning after a holiday in the next-door villa to Holly and her family. Now he has nothing apart from a lot of time on his hands. It is almost like he has taken early retirement but obviously not through choice."

Phil praised his strong marriage in a previous interview with BBC News, but admitted he was of course in her bad books at the time. He added: "Two beautiful children who had the most wonderful time as a family, a four is who we are.

"We are separated but we are very much together. Let's just say it was an incredibly difficult conversation. The most difficult conversation I've ever had to have with her and she is extremely disappointed because I lied to her as well. But she wished me well today."
