Over the course of the last twenty years, I have consistently heard him say 'because I can'. It was a mantra or a moto of his, and him just saying that it's... Because I can."

Bobby then held back tears as his dad was spotted in the audience wipe tears away as he was supported by his EastEnders co-stars. And speaking to The Mirror after his incredible win, Bobby admitted that after his name was called as the Best Rising Star, all he wanted to do was cry and hug his beloved dad.

"I feel so privileged and I feel like I'm a very little part of this award. I'm blessed. My dad cried, I think I'm going to cry when I see him. I just want to go and give him a hug now to be honest. I just want to go and hand this award to my dad, because all because of him," Bobby gushed.

Soon, Bobby will be swapping Albert Square for sequins next month as he takes on Strictly Come Dancing. TV presenter Jeff told The Mirror, his son's burgeoning career is purely down to his attitude. Jeff shared the actor's late mother Jade Goody would be proud beyond belief of her son over the past few years. The Big Brother star died in 2009 after battling cervical cancer when Bobby was five and his brother Freddie, 18, was just four.

In an exclusive interview, Jeff told the Mirror: "I'm really proud of Bobby and the attitude he has had since he's been on EastEnders. He's wanted to absorb as much from all the incredibly experienced actors around him. He's made a really good start to his career, and I can see he's proud of himself, too.

"I can see every time I switch it on that he's got better. Every time I watch it I can see he's better in the terms of the layers. I'm no acting expert, I can't say how good he is, but i'm really proud of my son. He's had an opportunity and he's taken it.

"I remember being told you live vicariously through your kids, I guess most parents do. When they start to achieve from a career point of view, it's special. He's made a mark and now he gets to have another very different experience."
