Revealing the ''joke nickname'' he uses for his wife, a royal biographer has exposed a little-known secret of King Charles.

The King has reportedly considered Queen consort, Camilla, to be his "companion and helper" as far back as the 1980s, according to a royal biographer, Sally Bedell Smith, who revealed King Charles III's teasing nickname for his now wife. King Charles "jokingly called" Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, his ''Girl Friday'', according to Bedell Smith, the Vanity Fair editor, and historian told the Royally Obsessed podcast. She gave insight into the famous story of the King gifting Camilla a bracelet before he married Diana, Princess of Wales.

Bedell Smith told listeners: "It was a very simple bracelet, a little gold bracelet, with a blue disk on it. It just said ''GF'' and meant ''Girl Friday''. That's what he jokingly called her. It just meant that she was sort of his companion, his helper. It could have meant that she was his Friday girl too. But 'Girl Friday' usually refers to someone who's a sort of Jill of all trades. She could help him out with things, and she was sort of reliable. Camilla would definitely fit that bill."
