Riddles come naturally to some people, but others will find them much more difficult and will sit there desperately trying to work them out, sometimes for hours on end. Unlike optical illusions, they're much more tricky to train your brain to understand, and it's argued that only "smart people" can work them out, according to Insider.

They are really fun to try and work out with your family and friends though, and you can add a little bit of friendly competition into your daily routine. Or, alternatively, you can try to solve it by yourself, and show off when you've managed to figure it out.

This riddle will take some serious brainpower, and it might be a bit confusing. Here it is: You're escaping a labyrinth, and there are three doors in front of you. The door on the left leads to a raging inferno. The door in the centre leads to a deadly assassin. The door on the right leads to a lion that hasn't eaten in three months. Which door do you choose?

Wow...that's a serious decision for you to make, isn't it? Thank goodness it's hypothetical! So, you're faced with a raging inferno, which you definitely don't want to go into. A deadly assassin sounds less than ideal as well. And a lion? No, thank you! All of them sound horrendous, but think a little deeper about each of the options you have in front of you.

Have you managed to figure it out? If not and you're still thinking about it, look away now because the answer is coming right up. The correct answer would be the door on the right. A lion, we hear you cry! Well, if it hadn't eaten in three months, it would be dead...
