TV presenter Grant Denyer brought his latest reality TV show into a frenzy after he collapsed on set - prompting producers to make an emergency call to medics.

Grant, 45, was filming for his new show The Amazing Race Australia when he was found "shivering" and "shaking" before collapsing to the floor. In a video clip promoting the show, Grant is seen on the floor surrounded by production and medics.

With his head rested on a makeshift pillow a voice can be overheard saying: "Can we get the medic? He’s shaking, he’s shivering,’ Grant appears to be making minimal movement but he remained in the recovery position until he was seen by a medic. It's not yet known why Grant collapsed but the star has been in good spirits on social media recently, with the clip being used in a trailer for the new series of his show.

The TV personality is perhaps best known for hosting shows such as The Great Australian Spelling Bee, Game Of Games and Dancing With The Stars and was a contestant on The Chase Australia. Even more worryingly, his wife witnessed the entire heart-wrenching incident as she is a contestant on the show, alongside her husband.

The premise of the show follows the celebs and their partners as they compete against each other to take an adventure around countries such as India, Borneo, Malaysia and Cambodia, in the quickest time possible. The reason behind Grant's collapse is not yet known but he managed to reassure fans after he took to his social media looking in better spirits – while posting a teaser video of the upcoming series.

When Grant first signed up to join the show, he was quite clearly excited as he wrote on his social media: "The Amazing race is like everyone’s dream holiday, except with less sleep, exhausting running with enormous backpacks & chronic traveller’s belly." He added: "We have no idea where we’re going, what we’re doing and how to get there. It’s giving me chronic anxiety just thinking about it. I really should have chosen The Mask Singer, but those novelty heads look really hot & uncomfortable. Plus, my wife is with me on this one … and she makes a great travel pillow."

The presenter, who is competing with his wife said that the show, which is filmed for over a month, will be a huge test of their 14 year marriage. He said: "If the last 14 years of marriage haven’t tested us already, this definitely will. Pray for us. Pray for our marriage! Think of the children." The couple have three children together, Sailor Shelly, Scout Una, and Sunday Mary Mae.

Having three daughters, Grant has previously revealed that since discovering that a female relative had suffered domestic abuse, he has vowed to do everything in his power to protect them. Speaking to Yahoo two years ago on the back of his appearance on Who Do You Think You Are in Australia, he said: "I'm so deeply aware that my whole purpose on earth is to make sure that they are safe and protected and they feel loved. It's very hard not to feel responsible in some way but you can't be responsible for the acts of your ancestors."

Following a harrowing monster truck accident in 2008 Grant has previously admitted he was addicted to pain killers after he broke his back. Grant posted a message on his Instagram account which read: "'I've been open in the past about how awfully embarrassed I am about the crazy things I did and said while trying to navigate (opioids)".

He added: "We can laugh about it now but the things I said to my gorgeous wife [Chezzi Denyer], who was trying her best to help me through a dark period, still haunts me. I couldn't control my behaviour. Its tough on the patient and can be equally tough on the loved one caring for them. But with some good advice, she could make sense of things, even when I wasn't making sense." The accident left Grant with a vertebrae that was shattered in 11 pieces, leaving doctors and those close fearing that he may never walk again.
