A Gogglebox legend has quit the show after 10 years. Stephen Webb and husband Daniel Lustig announced their departure in an emotional statement shared on social media today, with the Channel 4 show also sharing a statement on the news.
Gogglebox's statement read: "After a brilliant and illustrious time on Gogglebox, Stephen and Daniel have decided that now is the right time to explore life beyond the sofa and leave the show. As one of the original Goggleboxers, Stephen has entertained the nation with his hilarious quips since the show first started in 2013, sharing his opinions on the best and biggest TV events of the last ten years."
Show creators Studio Lambert explained: "We would like to thank him and Daniel for being utterly brilliant contributors to the show, and we wish them well with their future projects."
Stephen and husband Daniel have stepped down from Gogglebox (Channel 4)Taking to Instagram himself, Gogglebox icon Stephen admitted the "time was right" to "move on". He told fans: "After careful consideration, Daniel and I have decided we will not be returning for the new series of Gogglebox. We feel the time is right to move on and explore other opportunities.
"We would both like to thank Channel 4 and Studio Lambert for letting us be part of this amazing, funny and heartwarming show. We are also extremely thankful to the cast and crew, or Gogglebox family as we call them and of course the fans, thank you for all of your love and support over the years."

Fans flocked to the post's comment section to react to the news, with one saying: "Oh no... ruined my day this... but good luck on your next venture." While another commented: "Oh no you will be really missed, your both so funny together, good luck in your future ventures."
It comes after Sephen showcased his ripped body as he spent some time away from the hit Channel 4 show last month. He was evidently making the most of his break after jetting off to Jamaica. Away from the telly, the hairdresser has been sharing his relentless fitness journey online with his followers on Instagram.
Earlier this year, Stephen revealed he was putting in the work at the gym and even shared a snap of himself before and after his training regime. Captioning the pictures, he wrote: "Six months since I started training! Really happy with my results so far! #bodytransformation #training #fitness @roxlife_uk."
Stephen was on holiday with his sister Sharon and his nephew. The hairdresser and TV star surprised the pair with a trip to the Caribbean and even splashed out on business class seats for the both of them. He said: "Their faces, family @sharon.webb.756 and jay @virginatlantic #jamaica."
