Now might be the time to update your footwear collection as Crocs is releases its highly anticipated limited-edition Shrek clogs. While the humble Crocs have proved controversial for some - particularly when they are sported at weddings or other fancy events - they've seen a huge renaissance in recent years as not only a practical shoe, but a surprising fashion staple amongst the stars.
The swamp-green Shrek-inspired shoes are guaranteed to turn heads, and fans of the film are already going wild at the announcement. The iconic clogs come in an ogre hue and feature fluffy, brown, adjustable straps. The Crocs also have special jibbitz (accessories for the uninitiated) in the form of green ears and a nose that really completes the look.
Although the exact launch date has yet to be disclosed, the brand-new Shrek x Classic Clog could find its place on shop shelves in the coming months. Croc overs have raved over the new shoes inspired by the classic 2001 movie. One excited fan said: "This would fit my summer. Where can I pre-order?" Another added: "Oh we will be buying" Meanwhile a third person penned: "OMG SLAY."

While Crocs are a real go-to to pop to the shops in, you might want to think twice about donning a pair while taking the escalator after one mum's stark warning. Her daughter got caught up in a 'freak accident' while wearing a pair that got caught in the escalator, leaving them both shaken up. "Today my daughter's crock [sic] got trapped in the side of the escalator halfway up," she wrote on Facebook. "Thankfully I got her foot out straight away. Apparently was a 'freak accident' but just want to warn others to keep their children away from the sides."

People were quick to offer their support, with many sharing similar experiences that they've had. "Same thing happened to my son last week at Universal," one mother shared.
