It's many people's worst nightmare to find out that their partner has been cheating on them, particularly if they have been together for a long time. To discover such a betrayal of trust from someone you have loved for so long can be truly heart breaking. How much worse could it possibly get?
One 43-year-old man found out his wife, who was his childhood sweetheart, had been having an affair since the pandemic ended - and his daughter knew about it. The man shared his story on Reddit, explaining that he signed into his wife's Facebook out of curiosity, only to discover she had cheated on him with a "friend of hers". "I'm saying this out of pure hatred. He was an ugly b******, but he had one thing, money," he wrote.
Immediately he called his daughter and persuaded her to come to the house urgently. "She was quite nervous which was quite strange but now looking back, I'm assuming my wife found out I knew about the affair somehow, some way and told her." When he confronted his wife, she didn't deny anything. The husband explained: "Heartless in fact, and she scolded me for having no affection, lacking intimacy and to be honest, she was right but I was trying to achieve our goal, early retirement."
Immediately, his daughter scolded her mum for cheating, which caused his wife to expose her. "My wife stated that she's had an affair since the pandemic ended and my daughter discovered and they gave her lots of money to keep quiet. She tried apologising but it wasn't enough. I was heartbroken. My daughter meant everything to me and my wife, and they destroyed me." He went on to confess that their daughter had been a miracle child. The pregnancy was difficult for his wife, and she had never been able to have children again.
"I just left the house, waited for nightfall, ignored every phone call from my daughter and came back to pack my clothes and leave. I expected my wife to be home but she went out - probably to be with the man she’d cheated on me with. I blocked my daughter and wife as soon as I entered my motel. I don’t want any association with them."

People flocked to weigh in on the debacle. One commenter pointed out the daughter could have found a loophole to keep the money and inform her father. "I would have taken the money then told because what are they going to do? There's no contract and they never have time know I told." Another responder pointed out maybe he was too quick to cut off his daughter. "I feel like maybe we don't know all that happened between the mother and daughter. I think he should hear out the daughter and sit with her. Let her give her side of things."
