For any dog lover, seeing dogs in shelters is truly upsetting. We wish we could give them all a loving home. A heartbreaking video has emerged of a dog in a shelter who looks devastated when people just walk past him as he hopes to one day find a home of his own.
Elias, the adorable Siberian Husky, patiently sat by the metal bars in his kennel, and he looked so sad when the people walking past didn't stop to notice him at the Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care Centre in California, US. The devastating video even brought thousands of people online close to tears.
The video posted on a Reddit page showed three people who appeared to walk by in the 23-second clip and said: "This is the life of an overlooked shelter dog. Many people pass kennels, taking a glance and moving onto the next. Unnoticed, forgotten. Adopt to save his life Elias, Male Husky, six years."
Whilst he hoped someone would notice him, he dropped his head when he saw them walk past. The post has caused a wave of Redditors hoping adorable Elias will get adopted soon for the life he deserves. With hundreds of comments from dog lovers hoping he gets adopted, as many shared, it brought them to tears watching from a dog's perspective.
It seems like it's not uncommon for huskies to need new homes in California, as one Reddit user commented: "Poor huskies out there in California. It seems California has a massive issue with Husky rescues! I hope some can reason these beautiful pups and California owners get their act together! Best wishes to all of those trying to save these pups!!"
