Stacey Solomon says she had been preparing her "gracious loser face" in the run-up to Tuesday night's National Television Awards after losing to the late Paul O'Grady. The iconic TV legend received a posthumous award for his show For The Love Of Dogs.
The Loose Women panellist revealed she accepted her NTAs fate "a long time" ago, admitting she "couldn't have lost to a better person" after missing out on a prize in the best factual programme category for her show Stacey Solomon's Sort Your Life Out.
"I didn't win... I'm glad I practised my gracious loser face," she told her 5.7million fans on her Instagram Story late last night. Husband Joe Swash was in the room as the pair had clearly just got home. He made a joke about Stacey's 'pre-planned speech'.

Stacey quickly clarified: "I didn't even practise my speech, stop... I haven't... I practised my gracious loser face for a long time now.
"And you said I did well... No, do you know what? I love Paul O'Grady and I got to meet Paul O'Grady, I was lucky enough to meet him and he is just the most incredible human so I couldn't have lost to a better person."

She concluded: "And I just wanted to say thank you for all your love and support and votes and everything, erm, it means everything that I just got to go tonight and be nominated, so thank you. And yeah... maybe next year."
Stacey looked out of this world as she arrived on the red carpet on Tuesday. She had all eyes on her as she showed off her pearly whites for the camera, posing her heart out. The 33-year-old channelled her inner Barbie in a five-tiered tulle dress with a corset-style strapless top covered in pink sequins.

She posed with her hands on her hip and glowed with her fresh-faced makeup.
Comedian Joel Dommett hosted the evening as the likes of The Traitors, Happy Valley, Paul O'Grady : For The Love of Dogs, Gogglebox, and The 1% Club took home awards. Unsurprisingly, Ant and Dec took home yet another gong when they won the Best Presenter award for the 22nd year in a row.
In between the awards, there were several moments that left viewers at home shocked as they took to social media to discuss the jokes and awkward silences. Before a winner was even named, things got awkward as host Joel gave This Morning a shout out - saying "everyone loves" the ITV show - only for the room to be filled with a chorus of boos.
