EastEnders dropped a series of clues at the National Television Awards on Tuesday night ahead of the explosive Christmas storyline.
The hidden clues didn't go unnoticed by eagle-eyed fans who were quick to take to social media to point out the various hints dropped by the BBC One soap.
This Christmas, one male character will be killed off in scenes at The Queen Vic, which sees Stacey Slater alongside Suki Panesar, Kathy Beale, Denise Fox, Sharon Watts and Linda Carter standing over a dead body. One of the women are tipped to be the killer while details of what happens and who dies remain unknown but the victim is wearing amber cufflinks.

The hidden clues didn't go unnoticed by eagle-eyed fans who were quick to take to social media (Instagram)At Tuesday's NTAs, fans noticed that Stacey star Lacey Turner, Suki star Balvinder Sopal, Kathy star Gillian Taylforth, Denise star Diane Parish, Sharon star Letitia Dean and Linda star Kellie Bright all wore outfits the same colour as the Christmas flashforward, which was released earlier this year, in a clever move.
Taking to social media, one person posted a picture of the characters in the flashforward compared to the snap from the NTAs. They penned: "Clever marketing that" while another added: "They are genuine geniuses #EastEnders #TheSix @bbceastenders looking stunning ladies."

Elsewhere, EastEnders' official Instagram revealed they had the deadly pair of amber cufflinks as they made a slew of male stars wear them on the red carpet. Ian Beale star Adam Woodyatt, Alfie Moon star Shane Richie, Phil Mitchell star Steve McFadden, Jack Branning star Scott Maslen and Keanu Taylor star Danny Walters all wore them for a photo, hinting anyone of them could be the dead body this Christmas – unless it could be a red herring?
Fans noticed the soaps stars were wearing outfits of the same colour as the flashforward sceneHowever, some soap watchers were left concerned over the clues as it included potential victims they hadn't thought of before. Taking to social media, one person said: "EastEnders posted these on Instagram, each wearing a cufflink, I'm confused... why Alfie and Martin?"
It comes as EastEnders triumphed at the National Television Awards, taking home all three soap prizes. It was a big win for Danielle Harold, who played Lola Pearce-Brown in the BBC soap, as she won Serial Drama Performance. Lola tragically passed away earlier this year in sad scenes after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. Elsewhere, Bobby Brazier, who plays Freddie Slater, picked up the Rising Star Award and Serial Drama went to EastEnders.
