They are one of the most recognisable couples with pictures snapped of them every time they step out in public.
But the Princess of Wales was once mistaken for her husband Prince William's assistant - and her surprise response left them in fits of giggles.
The mix-up came several years ago when the couple were visiting the Shire Hall Care Home in Cardiff.
And the royal pair got more than they bargained more when they were introduced to resident Joan Drew-Smith.
The unfazed OAP pointed at Kate and asked William: "Is that your assistant?" But Kate handled the situation with a deft touch, laughing and saying to William: "Well, I am your assistant".

Today, William and Kate will be heading to Wales again for a tense royal outing that will see them go head-to-head for bragging rights.
The couple will be attending Saturday's rugby Six Nations clash between Wales and England at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
The match has a special significance for the couple as Prince William is the patron of the Welsh Rugby Union, while last year Kate was unveiled as the patron of the English Rugby Football Union, taking over from Prince Harry.

The couple attended the reverse Six Nations fixture at Twickenham last year - and as a surprise, they brought oldest son Prince George along for the occasion.
They showed their support for their opposing teams by donning England and Wales scarves for the clash - although George remained neutral.
William and Kate are set to watch Wales v England in the Six Nations today (PA)Asked whether George would be supporting his mother or father’s team, the young prince shrugged his shoulders and smiled at William, who laughed: "It's become quite the thing in the house", pointing at his wife, adding: "She is quite into it, I'm trying to stay out of it."
Kate then asked George to tell the group about how he has started playing rugby at his old school, Thomas's Battersea: "He has all the kit”, she said.
George spoke about how he has just started learning how to tackle, before turning to his mother: "But I haven't tackled you yet!" Kate replied, laughing: "Yes you have!"

Kate is an avid rugby fan and grew up watching England games with her family, long before her 2011 marriage to William.
