Antiques Roadshow guest visibly stunned over true value of miniature teapot

Antiques Roadshow returned for another instalment on Sunday evening with guests left stunned to discover the true price of their valuable items. During the episode, one guest was left amazed to discover the value of the miniature silver teapot he had inherited from his great-uncle and aunt.

Expert Duncan Campbell was left blown away by the antique, saying: "This is the nicest teapot I've certainly ever seen on an Antiques Roadshow - arguably, I've ever seen, I absolutely adore it, and I'm more than a little bit envious!" The guest then explained he inherited it from his great-uncle and aunt, who didn't have children, so they spent their money on collecting antiques.

Duncan said of the teapot: "I think it's absolutely gorgeous", pointing out that it's a miniature "bullet" engraved silver teapot, which was made by the most sought after silversmith Paul de Lamerie and is remarkably uncommon. Duncan said the guest would struggle to ever replace it and if he were to ever replace it with another, it would set him back by at least £12,000.

The guest was left blown away, remarking: "Wow, I will have to reinsure it!", adding: "I knew it was special, but it's nice to have that confirmed!" While Duncan said: "It's absolutely beautiful, if there was one piece of silver I could take home from all the roadshows I've ever done, it would be this one."

Viewers were also left blown away as they took to Twitter to share their thoughts over the miniature teapot. One person said: "£12K for the tiny wee teapot, #AntiquesRoadshow", a different account put: "But I want the tiny teapot! #AntiquesRoadshow", while another follower wrote: "I want a stout little teapot man like that! #SoCute #antiquesroadshow @RoadshowPBS."

It comes as Antiques Roadshow left guests gasping during an episode last month as they learnt the value of an incredible piece of John Lennon memorabilia.

During the episode, one guest discovered how much money a house number of The Beatles star's childhood home was worth by expert Raj Bisram. The guest said: "This is the number to John Lennon's childhood home", which left Raj, as well as the audience, speechless as they shouted "wow". It was later valued between £5,000 to £8,000.
