Erling Haaland has stated he would consider following superstar Lionel Messi's route to MLS in the latter stages of his career.
The Manchester City hotshot is the most feared forward in the world at present after a landmark first season in England. After scoring a phenomenal 52 goals on the way to a historic treble, his stay at Eastlands has been majorly fruitful so far.
Unsurprisingly, the 23-year-old marksman is focused on repeating his exploits from his successful debut campaign at the club he supported as a boy. That said, in an interview with ‘Impaulsive’ podcast with Logan Paul and KSI, he did suggest that he could eventually follow in Messi's footsteps and make the switch to the US.
Supporters of Pep Guardiola's outfit need not fret for the time being, however, with the Norwegian ace having ruled out this happening in the near future. Responding to a question about potentially moving to America, he said: "I've not be there much, so it's difficult to say.
"But I'm 23, people are going over to the MLS and playing football there, I've never thought of it because I'm young. I'm a footballer, in ten years I'm 33 and I've got my last couple of years in football."

Still yet to reach his traditional peak years, the former Borussia Dortmund striker is instead focused on ensuring he is able to compete at the top level for as long as possible. In the wide-ranging interview, he also spoke about his intricate techniques for ensuring he maintains his peak physical condition.
He explained: "I think sleep is the most important thing in the world. So to sleep good, simple kind of things blue blocking glasses, shutting out all the signals in the bedroom.

I have it (a sauna) at my home so I try and do it not every single day but almost every day. Sauna, steam room.'"
His techniques may be unorthodox but it is clear that he is seeing major results off the back of his dedication. Following the Cityzens' swashbuckling treble-winning campaign last season, he has since been awarded the PFA Player of the Year award.
In an uncompromising mood at the beginning of the new campaign, he has also registered three strikes in as many outings as the champions made an unbeaten start. Guardiola's team already sit at the top of the pack, as they chase a fourth straight title.
