Netflix viewers 'cancelling subscriptions' as two fan-favourite shows axed

Netflix viewers are up in arms after bosses announced the news to remove two fan favourites from the streaming site next month. Both UK classics will be axed from Netflix in September, leaving fans fuming at the 'massive mistake'.

Peep Show, which ran from 2003 to 2015 with 54 episodes across nine series, and Fresh Meat, which ran from 2011 until 2016, will be removed next month. The David Mitchell and Robert Webb cult classic culling sparked outrage on social media.

"Peep show is leaving Netflix screaming and crying and throwing up," fumed one angry service user. While another commented: "Netflix removing Peep Show is an absolute travesty."

Another user fumed on X, formally known as Twitter, as they wrote: "@NetflixUK if you take peep show off Netflix I will cancel my subscription, my family’s subscription, and get all my friends to do the same and spread the message. So eventually, no one will have Netflix anymore. this is the gravity of your mistake. you have been warned."

While another explained: "Disgrace! First Alan Partridge, then The Office, and now Peep Show going! That's my Netflix being cancelled." The final day fans can watch Peep Show will be September 28, while Fresh Meat will be axed on September 26.

The decision comes after the release of Prince Harry's new documentary on the streaming site. The Duke's brand new series Heart of Invictus is finally here - but it seems there has been some confusion over some of his claims made in the show.

The five-part documentary follows former military servicemen and women on their road to the Invictus Games - a Paralympic-style sporting competition Harry set up in 2014 for injured and sick military personnel and veterans.

And even though this series focuses more on the competitors and their stories rather than Harry, he also features heavily in the programme. And just in the same way that the previous Netflix show Harry & Meghan courted controversy, it seems Heart of Invictus is also facing scrutiny.
